Freedom in Christ is not the right to do what we want, but the ability to do what we ought. Without Christ, we are slaves to sin, unable to do what is right. Christ’s death on the Cross set us free from the penalty and power of sin.
“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.”
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
1 Peter 2:16-17
“Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.”
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”
