WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God. The Holy Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is perfect and without error. It contains divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It is flawless and contains the will of God and mind of God. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore, is and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation. The Word of God will never pass away.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21

Jesus Christ-The Only Begotten Son of the Father

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, came into the world that He might turn the hearts of men to God, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end, He was born of the Virgin Mary, received a human body and a sinless human nature without ceasing to be God.
Luke 1:30-35John 1:11418Hebrews 4:15Philippians 2:5-11

We believe that, in infinite love for the lost, He voluntarily accepted His Father’s will and became the divinely provided sacrificial Lamb and took away the sins of the world.
Romans 3:25-31; 2 Corinthians 5:14; Hebrews 10:5-14

We believe that he died on the Cross of Calvary, BUT He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He had lived and died and that His resurrected body is the pattern of the body which ultimately will be given to all believers.
John 20:20Philippians 3:20-21

We believe that on departing earth, He was accepted by His Father and that His acceptance is a final assurance to us that His redeeming work was perfectly accomplished.
Hebrews 1:3

We believe that He became head over all things to the church, which is His body, and in this ministry He does not cease to intercede and to be an advocate for the saved. Jesus Christ is the head of the church and Savior of the world.
Luke 1:351 Corinthians 15:1-3Ephesians 1:23Philippians 2:6-82 Timothy 2:51 John 2:1-2

God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Baptism

Christian baptism is the full immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is nothing miraculous or supernatural within the water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is an outward display and testimony of his/her faith in the final resurrection of the dead. It Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord’s Supper.

The Godhead

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God.
Deuteronomy 6:4Genesis 1:26Matthew 28:19

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity, dwells in every believer immediately after he places his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and that God provides, through the Holy Spirit, power to live the Christian life.
Romans 5:5; Romans 8:1-9; Galatians 5:16-25

Salvation

The wages of Sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. We believe that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless born again spiritually, and that the new birth of the believer comes only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Regardless of what the world says, Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. We believe, also, that our redemption has been accomplished by the grace of God, an unmerited gift, given in love by God and not the result of any human works.
Romans 6:23 John 14:6 John 3:17-182 Corinthians 5:21Galatians 3:13Romans 4:4-5

We believe that it is the reasonable services of the followers of Jesus Christ to make the Gospel known to the whole world and that this is the purpose of the church through the individuals within it.
Matthew 28:18-19Acts 1:82 Corinthians 5:11-21 Romans 12:1

We believe that local churches, such as Christian Charity Church, gather together for accurate instruction in the scriptures, for fellowship and worship with God and with other believers, and for corporate witness to the unsaved world. We gather to encourage and pray for one another. Our common spiritual goal is to grow toward Christ’s likeness.
Matthew 28:18-20Acts 2:42-47Romans 12:5Ephesians 4:13-16

The Lord’s Supper/Communion

The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the Body of Christ, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, in this we memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. We will never forget what Jesus did for us on the Cross.

Stewardship

God is the source of all blessings, temporal and spiritual. Every good and perfect thing comes from Him. Christians have a spiritual obligation to the whole world, and a binding stewardship in their possessions. Believers are, therefore, under obligation to serve Him with our time, talents, and material possessions; and should recognize all these as entrusted to them to use for the glory of God and for helping others. According to the Scriptures, Christians should contribute of their means cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionately, and liberally for the advancement of the Redeemer’s cause on earth.
